Blog Statistics

Another year has gone by and PACS World has been going for 3 years now! I thought it was time to share some more stats with my readers about my blog.

Monthly Visits Dec 2006 – Jan 2010

The monthly visits of pacsworld have increased from about 20 a month to just over 1000 visits a month. Since my blogs inception there have been 18,696 visits.

 

Operating Systems:

Again windows seems to be ruling the roost, but it has taken a small dip compared to last times statistics.

Browser Statistics
I am glad to see that the browser statistics have changed since my last statistics post.
Firefox seems to have taken over as the browser of choice amongst my readers. (Even though I am a Chrome user!)

Ok, so I see that everyone else is on twitter these days so I guess i better keep up with the times. I am actually starting to get the hang of it. I initially thought is was a load of rubbish, but I think there may actually be something to this who Tweeting thing.

Google analytics is a free service that allows you to track and manage your website usage. It is very useful for optimizing your website.

New Feature

I managed to embed the radiology web search into the blog. As you can see it is on the right hand side of the screen. As stated earlier, this is a work in progress. I am constantly adding new websites to the search engine and I will refine it as time passes. Please fell free to provide feedback.

Introduction

The world of digital Radiology is upon us. DR and CR systems are taking over and PACS seems like the only solution to the ever increasing pressure on the Radiology departments around the world, who are constantly trying to keep up with these new machines. Gone are the days when you wait for 10min for film to be developed, now when the button is pressed and the radiation released the images are almost instantly available and with PACS these images can be distributed around the world in seconds or stored for a life time!

PACS is providing the radiology department the ability to minimize certain mundane tasks allow radiologists to focus on the images and reporting. The practice I work for is going through the motions of getting a PACS system at the moment and I intend to use this blog as a means to document the transition from film to film less. I am also planning on posting links to relevant open-source resources for IT staff in a radiology.
